The story is about a poor young couple who give each other Christmas gifts, reflecting the hardship of the lower class people in America, and praising the protagonist’s kind heart and innocent love.I magnify the value of the objects exchanged by the protagonists in the story in order to discuss the transformation of material and emotional values.I have presented the story in a modern information dialogue box so that the reader can feel more immersed in the story. The first was that I wanted to explore how people in different cultural contexts might perceive the story, but I don’t really know the cultures of other countries, and it would probably take a lot of work to support me in writing a more rigorous story that would reflect that.So I chose a hybrid approach. I searched for novels with the same or similar core meanings from different cultures. After reading Hito SteyerL’s In defence of the Poor image, I was intrigued by her idea of describing the object as an image, and me as a text. I wanted to try this approach, to reduce the resolution of the text.Reducing the “resolution” of a text is different in practice from that of an image, because the clarity and readability of a text depends primarily on the integrity of its content and the clarity of its expression. So I reduce the “quality” of the text by modifying its format, structure and content. These versions can show how the story changes as it undergoes different readings and circumstances, especially when it is taken out of its original context and intent.
